Here in the Circle City (Indianapolis) there have been a few rumblings & grumblings in the last few years -- although they are usually quickly & quietly squashed -- regarding the possible divorce/separation between Peyton Manning & his wife, Ashley Manning. Well, it now appears that there may be some legitimacy to those rumors. I've actually heard this one from several people within the last month. Apparently Peyton recently informed one of his local endorsers in Indy that Ashley will no longer be making appearances with him at their promotional & charity events. Another tidbit of interest is that Peyton bought her a house in Tennessee a while ago, and that she basically lives there year-round. From my perspective, if it's true, do you blame her? I mean, that guy is either at the Colts complex, in his basement watching game films, making appearances, or shooting commercials. The wifey needs more attention than the annual Pro Bowl trip to Hawaii in February and another week long vacation out of the country each off season. It would be such a shame if Peyton failed to learn the balance of work and home life, especially growing up in a household where his father was Archie freaking Manning. Additionally, he has of all coaches, Tony Dungy, as his head coach. This is the same coach who drops his young kids off to school in the mornings before heading to the Colts complex; the same coach who is the most anti-Dick Vermeil/Jon Gruden NFL head coach in the league right now.
Peyton knows how to beat a Cover-2 (sometimes) but can't seem to grasp the ability to manage co-habitation with his college sweetheart? I hope it's not true, but if it is, I can't wait to see Peyton hitting the town, trying to find the next Mrs. Manning. Sounds like a freakin reality show for ESPN. Can you imagine his profile on match.com? We already know how he would describe himself (see Sprint commercial with fake mustache); but what qualities would the girl of his dreams possess? I'll give it a shot: seeking female, age 25-32 & willing to reproduce (prime time age to pop out the babies & recover quickly enough to pop out another one), must appreciate lonely days & nights without my company (unless I need you to pop me some popcorn while I'm in my dungeon watching game films), must truly appreciate the slow paced lifestyle of a Midwest city (Indianapolis is not LA or Miami the last time I checked), is OK being the wife of one of the most recognized & highest compensated athletes in the country, willing to be pleasant to adoring (although sometimes annoying) fans, enjoys "smiling for the cameras" at public appearances & charity events, must be willing to give "exclusive" interviews to a certain local Indianapolis TV sports reporter with the initials AC (AC's the real deal--no disrespect), willing to hang out on Kenny Chesney's tour bus for one week per year, must love red meat & Bud Light, must be a registered Republican, and must be considered "hot" by over 90% of males polled based on your profile picture (full body shot required (video is a bonus)--we need to know what's going on below that head shot, sweetie). I'm sure there are plenty of women out there that fit that profile.
As a Colts fan, my biggest concern is the mental & emotional impact this divorce/separation would take on Peyton. The backup QB here is Sorgi. Jim Sorgi. Nuff said. Hopefully this is once again just another rumor going on around town, but if not, it would make for an interesting year.

This has got to be one of the most non-fact based posts about Peyton ever. First it was people saying he's gay or bi, and now this? I would love to know who these people are who are spreading these lies. And if you're a Colts fan why would you want anyone to know this? It's just ammo for fans to give him more crap than usual at away games. you suck & your probably a patriots fan anyway.
Are you just stupid or lazy? And if you're going to make a comment, at least use something other than "anonymous". I am clearly a Colts fan & I think Peyton can handle the opposing fans. Lots of athletes get divorced & no no gives them that hard of a time unless their name is Michael Strahan & your wife embarasses you publicly. I would not expect that from Peyton's wife--she seems classy & I am sure they would handle this very amicably. Although I bet she would get a lot of money from him!
I heard abot this too. My wife works at a salon in Carmel & a lady who works for or is married to someone who works for one of Peyton's big local endorsers said he told the owner of the company that it was the last time his wife would be there at that annual event with him. I guess she has been there with him every year since he started being the spokesman for them. So there really could be some legitimacy to all this! It would be fun to see dorky Peyton hitting the town & the gold diggers all over him though...

To add on to this rumor, I just spoke to a business associate of mine who performs "services" for some of the Colts players (not the type of services a dirty mind would think of) at their houses & apparently they said there has been some whispering around the Colts complex as well about this during the offseason workouts.

OK, so maybe I am wrong. I finally got around to watching my DVR of the ESPY's and saw Mr. & Mrs. Manning both in attendance. Hopefully they are still a happy couple!
he has cheated numerous time on Ashley. i went to school with him and am from memphis and know ashley's family well. i hate it. it breaks my heart!! but it is true. i thought he might straighten up, but this has been going on for years.
Manning's divorce IS final. It became final in December. The divorce was because he cheated with a well-known Indianapolis television personality.
Ashley was in the Superbowl last week with him and it was reported in an article. And he's wearing his ring in every single interview he's giving, so i don't know where the heck you people are getting this divorce thing.
And gimme a break if he cheated with a "well known tv personality" and caused a divorce how come there's no news about it? This are big headlines you people are claiming here and theres' absolutely NOTHING on the news! You guys are nuts.

There's no problem with them. Peyton and Ashley were together at Tennesse for a HOF banquet just last week. I saw them together at the probowl. They're very private, especially Ashley, you don't see her in the spotlight much but sometimes you do like in this case, just leave them alone and stop those stupid rumors.

There was an article about Peyton and Ashley and the writer talked about her commitment to breast cancer research because her mother was a survivor. Ashley moved back to Tennesse to take care of her and be with her during her treatment and recovery, that's when she was missing from some of the events and the rumors started. Oddly enough Olivia Manning added to all this by inadverdently mentioning that she and Archie were spending Thanksgiving with Peyton so he wouldn't be alone.
Anonymous, you're mixing informaton from years ago. The one of Ashley spending time with her mom is true, she said it herself in the interview but that was years ago.
The thing on thanksgiving was someone spreading that rumour last year. There's no fact that Olivia said that anywhere. Last year Eli was the one who said in an interview (and i saw that on giants.com) that his mom was coming over to NYC for thanksgiving.
So that rumour of what Olivia supposedly said is not true.
They just passed out Thanksgiving food here in Indy last night at a local park. If they are divorced, they are putting on a big show. I too heard the rumblings, but believe they are false.
I wouldn't see the point of putting up a show.
For what? It's not like divorce is this odd thing to do till the point of hiding it. And i only read those rumours on forums and blogs like these but never on more reliable places. Maybe they went through a crisis and people immediately assumed they were done.
Just last week someone posted on a blog about going to a game at LOS and they were sitting behind Ashley and they even took a picture of her. I saw it, she was wearing a blue dress. And another responded saying Ashley is seen there numerous times. In another place someone said he met Peyton in a restaurant in NYC this last summer and that he was with his wife and family. And he also shared a picture, and yes, Ashley was there.
My point is, no matter how much i read about them splitting and such, i always see things that refute that. People gossip too much about them and it's been going on for years. I think it's only a matter of time that they'll start to do the same with Eli and Abby.
The Mannings are too private and i think that's why people get too curious about them.

I have been hearing this from multiple sources. Peyton has been cheating on his wife for years and there were rumors in town that he got Angela Buckman pregnant...the local weather girl.
My understanding is that he lives downtown and that she is still in their house on Pennsylvania in Indianapolis. I have not heard that they are divorced. If they were divorced, that would have made the papers, as it is public information.
Last night in San Diego, Peyton's wife Ashley was shown on TV sitting right next to Olivia, Peyton's mom during the game.
The divorce/cheating rumours have been going on since they got married. I really don't get the hype over Peyton and his personal life.

That site doesn't prove he "gives money to her father", there's nothing there. And i guess Eli's wedding and outings with friends and family with no media around are considered "public appearances."
If they're having issues, well, what marriage doesn't have them? Everyone wants a piece of him or see him going down both profesional and personally because he's the highest profiled football player right now, with a very likeable personality. And no one has caught him doing something bad....except for that mooning in his college years which is dead now.
So as long i just read this kind of stuff on blogs or forums, seriously i don't give a damn. But if i see this on espn or nfl network or any more reliable source, then i'll consider it serious.

When I was at UT with Peyton, there are numerous folks who saw him drinking hard and crashing in a dudes room, sometimes that door opened and naked ass was everywhere, like gay/bi boys like it.
